- Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00am
- The Austin City Hall Plaza, 301 W. 2nd St., Austin, TX
- You are invited to join the Austin Community for the annual March Against Child Abuse & Resource Fair on April 22nd from 10am-2pm. This FREE community event is being held in an effort to decrease child abuse & neglect in our community, increase awareness of child safety issues and educate the community about the resources available to them. Various agencies in the community to be on site to provide information, demonstrations and resources for families about child abuse, neglect and family violence. There will be guest speakers, child ID Kits, and activities for the children. At the end of the event, children’s shoes will be collected through a community effort to a local charity. Each pair of shoes will represent a child who died as a result of child abuse and neglect in the State of Texas in 2016. This is a great way of bringing the community together for a common purpose and getting a chance to bond with one another. It’s also a perfect time for parents to have fun with their children and also get some good information on child abuse and neglect.
