Of course, the adults don’t have to miss their ride on Space Mountain.  Just utilize “Rider Swap.”  This program allows one adult in your party to stay back and wait with the little ones while the rest of the group rides.  Then, the adult who stayed back can ride later by going through the FastPass+ line and avoiding a second wait in line.
